I’m not hugely keen on words like super immunity and superfoods. But super immunity, in this book, simply refers to getting your immune system working as good as it can. The book explains Fuhrman’s ideas on how to do that through food.
There are many health tips to be gained in this book, even though I don’t necessarily accept 100% of it. The thing is that I don’t know…I’m not a nutritionist. Fuhrman though is confident about his nutritional understanding. Though there are moments when I feel he veers towards the extreme (we all know the type), I think much of his message is very sensible. The positives he offers far outweigh any negatives. My thought is, use your common sense when reading, and decide just how much you want to change your day to day nutritional style.
Super Immunity contains info on colds and flu, superfoods (which are not weird powders and supplements or I would have stopped reading), and choosing the food groups’ healthiest foods. Plus, it has a recipe section. One of my favourites is Fuhrman’s Black Bean Lettuce Bundles – yummo.
In case you’re wondering what the essence of Fuhrman’s message is: Eat lots of fruits and veggies, limit animals products, and stay away from processed foods. Sounds commonsense to me, and so I have been happy to try to follow it. Sometimes I’m successful! 😛
